私たちは、2日目と3日目にデザインテックハイスクールに行きました。そこには新しい製品やアイデアを生み出すための沢山のものがありました。私たちは、デザインテックハイスクールの生徒と話したり、私たちが5月から準備してきたアプリの発表をしたりしました。また、私たちはユニークな帽子を段ボールで作りました。なぜなら、テーマがユーザーのニーズを満たすような帽子を作ることだったからです。わたしは、帽子の上に水筒に入った水や、他のドリンクが置け、帽子についているストローでドリンクを飲めるような帽子を作りました。私はこのような帽子を今までに見たことがありません。私は、段ボールでプロトタイプを作ることは、その機能や形を理解するのにとても重要だと感じました。デザイン思考を更に学ぶことや、アメリカの高校生と話すのにとても良い機会になりました。

また、二日目には、オラクル社に行きました。オラクル社はデザインテックハイスクールの近くにあります。オラクル社の建物に囲まれるように湖がありました。トレーニングのための場所がたくさんあり、エンジニアたちは自分たちの健康に気を遣っているのだと思いました。そして、私たちはエンジニアに会いました。彼らの経歴は素晴らしいです。彼らは、「この会社はデータベースを得ることによって成長してきました。しかしながら、世界は急激に変化しているため、私たちは次に何が起こるかわかりません。」とおっしゃっていました。私はそれを聞いて怖いと感じましたが、彼らは至って落ち着いていました。私は、悩むことは思考を制限するので、悩まないことが大切だと学びました。私は、より広い視野で世界を見てみたいです。したがって、考え続けようと思います。

On day 2 and day3, we went to d.tech high school. There were many things to create new products and new ideas. We talked with students of d.tech and explained our product that we had prepared since May. Also, we made a unique hat by using cardboard, because the theme was to make a hat which satisfied the user’s needs. I made a hat which can hold a bottle of water or some drinks and users can drink it by using a straw from the hat. I have never seen such a hat before. I learned that it is important to use cardboard to make a prototype, because it is easier to understand the function and the shape. It was a nice time for me to learn more about design thinking and communicate with students in the U.S.

On day 2, we went to Oracle Corporation. It was close to d.tech high school. There was a lake surrounded by the buildings. There were many places for training. I thought the engineers took good care of themselves. Then, we met some engineers. Their careers were great. They said, “ This company has grown by getting databases. However, as the world is changing gradually, we don’t know what will happen next.” I was scared to hear that, but they were very calm. I learned that it is important not to worry because worrying limits thinking. I want to see the world more widely, so I will continue thinking.
