The Getty Museum is a famous art museum in Los Angeles, California. It has two places: the Getty Center and the Getty Villa. The Getty Center has modern buildings and beautiful gardens. We can see great views of the city there. The Getty Villa shows art from ancient Greece and Rome.
The museum was started by J. Paul Getty, an oil businessman. He began collecting art in the 1930s.

The Getty museum has Europe classic artworks mainly, we can enjoy famous artists artwork such as Gauguin, Van Gogh and Monet. Especially famous one is “iris” painted by Van Gogh when he inspired by Japanese Ukiyo-e. Also, Highlights is not only artworks. Beautiful view, garden, and museum‘s architectural beauty is the works too.
この美術館は、石油事業家のJ・ポール・ゲッティが始めました。彼は1930年代に美術品収集を始めました。
ゲッティ美術館は、ヨーロッパの古典を中心とした美術品を貯蔵しており、ゴーギャンやゴッホ、モネといった世界的にも有名な画家の作品を鑑賞することができます。特に有名なのは、ゴッホが浮世絵の影響を受けて描いた「アイリス」です。そして、見どころは美術品だけではありません。ロサンゼルスを一望できる景色や庭園、美術館自体の建築美もその一つ一つが作品なのです。
